write_file
Creates new files, and only new files. Existing files are changed through read_file, with its safety rules.
Components
Capabilities
- Creates a file at the given path, creating missing folders.
- Refuses to overwrite: if the file exists, it says so and points to read_file.
- Every new file belongs to a project the agent names: an existing project, or a new name that starts a project rooted at the file's folder (or at its Python venv, when the folder is inside one). Without a project nothing is written, and the existing projects are listed.
- The new file is indexed at once: it gets its coordinate, and other files' imports that were waiting for it are connected.
Why
Silent overwrites are one of the most common ways agents destroy work. Making creating and editing two separate tools removes that ambiguity entirely. Where a file belongs is a decision, not a guess, so the agent makes it explicitly.
Try it in Claude in under a minute
- Copy this address:
https://mcp.itamos-technologia.com/mcp - Open Claude's connector settings →
Then click Add custom connector, paste the address and click Add. - A small page appears with one button, Create my sandbox. Click it. No account, no email, no password.
- In a new chat, click + → Connectors and switch it on. Then just ask.
- "Go to bbc.com/news and tell me the top stories."
- "Open this pancake recipe and give me only the ingredients: bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/easy-pancakes"
- "What are the British Museum's opening hours? Check britishmuseum.org/visit"
- Developers: "Clone github.com/pallets/flask and show me how routing works."
Team or Enterprise plan? An Owner adds the address once in Organization connectors; members then click Connect. Another AI app? Add the same address as a remote MCP server.
Is it safe?
- It can't see your computer, your files or your other chats. It only visits the pages you ask about, inside a private space of its own.
- Nothing is kept: your space and everything in it are deleted after 10 minutes without use. We keep only daily totals per tool and standard web-server logs (IP addresses, 14 days).
- Free, and open source: anyone can check the code.
